Stay Strong For Us for a While Longer

When I get a note from someone who has lost a job (which has happened more often lately), I will send them this quote by Napoleon Bonaparte. It was in a letter he sent to one of his generals who, on the eve of a battle with a much larger force, despaired of winning. That general evidently took the message to heart, because his troops were victorious.
With the vaccine rollout picking up steam, the (hopefully peaceful!) Presidential inauguration coming up next week, and the promise of a new economic stimulus package, we begin to see the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel we have all been hoping and praying for.
But we still have a hard journey in front of us. Covid hospitalizations and deaths are at record levels in many areas. Too many people still refuse to do their part by physically distancing and mask wearing. The physical, emotional, and financial toll of the pandemic will outlast the virus itself. We all need to stay strong for each other.
My friend, colleague and frequent coauthor Dr. Bob Dent and I have a new article on “Everyday Courage for Extraordinary Times” in the journal Nursing Management. The 13 strategies we describe are more important now than ever before. You can download a free PDF here:

Note: Our in-house supply of tenth anniversary edition of The Florence Prescription is sold out. The book will continue to be available on Amazon in softcover, Kindle, and audiobook formats. I’ll be publishing a new 2021 edition with an extended introduction concerning the coronavirus pandemic in time for Nurses and Hospital Week in May. Watch for the announcement.

Stay Strong For Us Project

The Covid19 crisis has brought out the best in caregivers in hospitals, nursing homes, and clinics around the world. It has also left many battered and exhausted – and the fight is not yet over.

That’s why Values Coach is launching the Stay Strong For Us project next month. This eBook and website will include messages of hope and encouragement from healthcare leaders and thought leaders plus great strategies for personal resilience and recovery.

We are covering the entire cost of this project – there will be no charge to organizations or individuals. If you would like to be notified when we go live simply contact me at Joe@ValuesCoach.com with Stay Strong in the subject line and I’ll take it from there.

Because we still have miles to go before we reach that light at the end of the tunnel, we need you to stay strong for us!
