I have always been fascinated by military history. The people who start and who fight in wars can show humanity at its very best and very worst, at the most courageous and most cowardly.
While I am not personally a fan of applying military strategy to the world of business competition (though there are many books that make the case for how it applies), I do believe that using the strategies of history’s greatest battlefield commanders can help you win the one war that we must each win: the war against YOWE, Your Own Worst Enemy.
This Independence Day, liberate yourself from the fears that prevent you from taking the action necessary for you to achieve your most authentic goals and become the person you know you are meant to be.
Liberate yourself from the toxic voice of negative self-talk that tries to talk you into settling for anemic dreams and goals by convincing you that you are not capable or deserving of more.
Set aside the emotional baggage that keeps you trapped in the swamp of hurtful memories and prevents you from seeing a better future.
Free yourself from excessive concern about what you think other people might think of you (and trust me on this: you will worry a lot less about what other people think of you if you will admit to yourself how infrequently those people think of you!).
We have just passed the midpoint of the year 2021. This Independence Day would be a great day for you to wave the flag of personal independence, and to set off fireworks (at least virtually) to celebrate the person you intend to become and the goals you are determined to achieve by New Year’s Day.
